USHR is reporting that recruit Mike Pereira was added to the Lincoln Stars protected list today, probably paving the way for him to play for the USHL team shortly.
This move was probably driven by the fact that his prep coach at South Kent, Geoff Marotollo, was surprisingly let go earlier this week. So far there is no official confirmation from the Lincoln site or news outlets.

Fear The Triangle will always be free. But there is some investment associated with providing first-hand coverage of UMass hockey. Specifically, domain hosting, travel, game streams, and ticket costs all add up. Not to mention the hours spent every day reading and writing about UMass hockey. I'll continue to do this for the foreseeable future even if it runs me into financial ruin (it won't, I think) and my wife divorces me (hopefully just as unlikely). As we mentioned, South Kent defenseman Garrett Clement will be joining the Lincoln Stars shortly — at Thanksgiving, we’re told. The word on Mike Pereira is that he is likely to transfer to another boarding school.
