Dainton Named HE Goalie of the Month; Pereira to AOF

Congrats to Paul Dainton who was named Hockey East Goaltender of the Month yesterday.

I was finally able to track down where Mike Pereira is heading following his departure from the South Kent program after they fired the head coach.  Pereira will be a Winged Beaver this year at Avon Old Farms.  AOF has sent some quality players to UMass in the past including Jon Quick and Chris Davis.  That means that Pereira will likely get to take to the Fenway ice as Avon Old Farms and Taft are scheduled to play there on the morning of December 21st.

The game notes are up for this weekend’s games.

Brett Watson is mentioned in this story from the Hampshire Gazette on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Hampshire Country.  Watson has recruited five of his teammates to take part in the worthwhile program.

I know this has already made its way around many hockey circles but I wanted to make sure I shared this courageous story about Brian Burke’s openly gay son who’s part of the Miami hockey team.

Do you have any idea whether they’ll be letting people into Fenway for the AOF game that you mention will happen on Dec 21st?

    • No idea. It’s a Monday morning at 9am by the way.

Yeah, I noticed the 9 AM start on the AOF website… I’d really like to see the rink at Fenway, and may use that game as an excuse to get out there though…

        We’ll see.
