7 For 7; Quick Update

The athletic department is currently running a special where you can get tickets for all seven of the remaining home games for just $7 each.  That should make for a great Christmas gift for your favorite UMass hockey fan (or yourself) but it also shows that the schedule to date has been home laden and over half the games to be played at the Mullins have been played.  Only six games in the months of January, February, and March will be played at home.  Yikes.

Jon Quick stole one the other night out in LA against the Flames according to Inside Hockey.  Speaking of Quick, though the olympic team won’t be announced until the Winter Classic game at Fenway reports are that Brian Burke will be making his selections in the next week or so.  Quick is currently 4th in the NHL in wins but his goals against and save percentage of 2.66 and .901 are not among the leaders.  Craig Anderson has been another goaltender rumored for the spot to backup Ryan Miller and Tim Thomas in Vancouver.  But looking through the stats don’t be surprised if Jimmy Howard gets some consideration as he’s done a pretty good job splitting time with Chris Osgood in Detroit.

I’m currently on a quest to get to as many college hockey arenas as I can.  With this year’s trips to Yale and Quinnpiaic as well as a side trip to Holy Cross I’ve now attended all the ones in New England save for Brown and Sacred Heart.  For fun I thought I’d keep track of all the hockey arenas I’ve visited.  You can check it out on the About Me page.
