Inside Hockey has their weekly Hobey Watch. James Marcou is back on top while Casey Wellman’s stock continues to rise.
Inside Hockey also has a look at UNH’s weekend where Bobby Butler says they’ll be happy to get back to playing conference games. Yeah, being winless outside of Hockey East will do that to you.
Here’s another UNH preview from north of the border.
UMass’ recent woes are discussed in this week’s Hockey East preview from USCHO.

Four UMass recruits will take the ice in Marlboro this weekend for the 2010 Winter Showcase. Assuming they’re healthy Colin Shea (Junior Bruins), Peter DeAngelo (NH Jr Monarchs), Kevin Boyle (NJ Rockets) will play in games from Friday through Sunday at the New England Sports Center. Unfortunately none of them are playing anytime near each other but I may try to get to a game if possible. I’ve still yet to see DeAngelo in person. Here’s the schedule for those looking to watch some quality junior hockey in a nice facility.
Chris DelMauro may not be visiting though as reader Ryan has pointed out that he has headed out west to play for the Lincoln Stars of the USHL. However it does not appear that the Stars have officially added him to the roster as of yet (he’s still considered an affiliate player), so it may be just something he wanted to try out during his Christmas break. Kevin Boyle did the same thing last season playing in the USHL for a game and then returning to the Empire Junior League. DelMauro made the most of his three games out there though scoring a goal.
Also on the recruiting front another reader John Lyons posted a comment saying he heard UMass is recruiting Devin Tringale from Lawrence Academy. Tringale is a 6’0″ 185 forward who currently has 9 goals and 10 assists in 12 games. In checking some other sources it does appear UMass is or was interested in him. According to this Cornell blog he’s also looking at the Big Red, BC, UNH, Dartmouth, and UNH.
I really hope UMass lands this kid. Not just because he sounds like a high profile recruit, but for all the Fear The Tringale quips I’ll be able to make.
