UMass’ 4-2 win on Saturday knocked Boston College from their perch atop the USCHO poll. Merrimack, the only undefeated team in college hockey, only moved up one spot to #6. BU remained in the poll at #16 despite their 7-1 loss at the hands of Lowell. All in all 7 Hockey East teams are currently getting votes (UMass is not one of them).
The Gophers are your new team atop the USA Hockey/USA Today poll as well.

UMass fans might’ve noticed a certain twang during the station identification of the hockey broadcasts this weekend. That’s because WRNX is no more and 100.9 is now plays both kinds of music, country and western. Former UMass play by play announcer, “Donnie’s Used Cars” host, and the guy who’s letting FTT readers buy discounted Falcons tickets has a eulogy for the old station that’s worth a read.
UMass sports broadcasts are not expected to be affected by the change.
