Report: Pecknold To Be Named UMass Coach

College Hockey News is reporting Quinnipiac’s Rand Pecknold will accept UMass’ offer to be head coach. Check back to FTT for coverage later today.

UPDATE: Other outlets are now reporting Pecknold has turned down UMass’ offer. I’ll do my best to sort things out later. As of now UMass hockey remains coachless (and radioless) and some would argue directionless.

Not impressed by this hire. I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt but I think the committee missed an opportunity to hire for the long term.

This is a joke now we help coaching get more money and longer contract. Great move umass AD. He never wanted to come. Used us to get what he wanted at quinnipiac.

Sounds like he Umile’d us this is what whistling dick did at UNH when we offered him the job. My opinion is that I would like to see Reilly get a chance, local guy with a solid hockey background.
