The Massachusetts hockey program is off to its best start since 2009-10 with an opening weekend sweep of the Colorado College Tigers of the NCHC in Colorado Springs. The Minutemen kicked off the season with a 6-3 victory on Friday night, highlighted by freshman Austin Plevy scoring a hat trick in his UMass debut. On Saturday Plevy would score the game-winner in a wild game that saw the team score 4 goals in the 3rd period to comeback from an earlier 3-0 deficit.
