Recruit Update ▲ Nachtigall, Makar Combine For 4 Goals, 7 points In Two Bandit Wins

It’s Tuesday so time to take a look around the continent and see how the future Minutemen are doing.

Shane Bear – D – Brooks Bandits (AJHL) – 2016
8 GP / 1 G / 7 A / 8 Pts / 8 PIM
Bear notched his first goal of the season this past weekend as well as added an assist.

Troy Conzo – RW – Wenatchee Wild (BCHL) – 2016 or 2017
10 GP/ 4 G/ 2 A / 6 Pts /  0 PIM
Conzo was held pointless in three games this past week.

Kyler Nachtigall – LW – Brooks Bandits (AJHL) – 2016 (NLI Signed)
10 GP / 2 G / 7 A / 9 Pts / 22 PIM
Nachtigall had a big weekend with two goals and two assists in a couple games.  One of the games was a 2 goal, 1 assist effort.  He was interviewed after his big game.  One of the things he’s asked is what he’s doing this season to prepare for his NCAA career.

Jake Massie – D – Omaha Lancers (USHL) – 2016

Massie continues to be sidelined with an injury.

Jake McCarthy – D – South Shore Kings (USPHL) – 2016
0 GP / 0 G /0 A / 0 Pts / 0 PIM
McCarthy is injured to start the year with the Kings.

Ty Pelton-Byce – C – Des Moines Buccaneers (USHL) – 2016 (NLI signed)
5 GP /1 G / 0 A / 1 pts / 0 PIM
Pelton-Byce did not register a point this past weekend.

Justin Dixson – LW – Tri-City Storm (USHL) – 2017
2 GP / 0 G / 0 A / 0 Pts
Dixson did not make it on the scoresheet in his most recent game.

Colin Felix – D – St George’s (RI-HS) – 2017
0 GP / 0 G / 0 A / 0 Pts
Felix is playing for the Rhode Island Hitmen U18 before the high school hockey season starts up in the Ocean State.  He has 3 goals and 11 assists in 11 games.

Nick Jenny – D – Omaha Lancers (USHL) – 2017
6 GP / 0 G / 2 A / 2 Pts / 4 PIM
Jenny picked up his second assist this past weekend.

John Leonard – LW – Green Bay Gamblers (USHL) – 2017
5 GP / 1 G / 1 A / 2 Pts
Leonard had an assist this past weekend.

Cale Makar– D – Brooks Bandits (BCHL) – 2018
10 GP / 3 G / 9 A / 12 Pts / 2 PIM
Makar had another big weekend, scoring two goals and grabbing an assist.  He’s now second on Brooks in points and second in points among all AJHL defensemen.  Here’s a highlight shift from this past weekend:

Brian Scoville – D – Winchendon (NE Prep) – 2018
0 GP / 0 G / 0 A / 0 Pts
Scoville is playing for the Cape Cod Whalers U16 team before Cushing starts up.  He has 2 goals and 5 assists in 18 games so far.

The accolades continue to roll in for freshman Austin Plevy following his 4 goal, 1 assist weekend.  The NCAA named him their #1 star of the week.  Plevy was also named a UMass Co-Athlete of the Week.

Plevy was also mentioned in SBN College Hockey’s weekend summary.

Plevy’s third goal on Friday was the NCAA’s top play this week while Shane Walsh grabbed the #4 spot.

Current Minutemen weren’t the only ones picking up hardware this week.  Frank Vatrano was named AHL Player of the Week for his 5 goals in the P-Bruins’ first two games, including his 4 goal effort in their most recent one.

Mike Busillo has signed with the Adirondack Thunder of the ECHL.
