Pereira One of the Best in the East

In the NHL.com’s Central Scouting blog they list the top players in each of the respective junior leagues/regions.  Mike Pereira is one of the top ten players in the US East section as voted upon by Central Scouting’s scouts.

Eric Filiou’s Penticton Vees were eliminated from the BCHL playoffs this weekend.  This article says Filiou had a strong series though and even scored a goal in the Vees’ final game.

While we are losing a lot of talent right now, every year the overall class seems to be a bit better than the year before, even if there aren’t any standouts. Maybe Pereira is the standout of this class, which is already pretty solid.

    • Pereira, Teglia, and Hanley appear to be the tops of the class. Allen sounds to be potentially solid and the rest of the class will like help fill in for much needed depth.

The coaches are still out west and other places looking too.

  3. Power’s a ’90 dob, in his third year in the USHL, from Camarillo, CA. It really is amazing the number of Cali kids coming into college hockey.

He’s having himself his best offensive year, with a 26-15-41 in 55 games this year.

  4. Pereira will be attend the NHL combine. Ranked top 100. Who do we see him playing with next year? Will Toot go with a freshman line? Is he a center or wing?

    • That’s great about Pereira and the combine. Hadn’t seen that yet.

Pereira is a winger. Who he plays with is a great question. Carzo and Syner perhaps?
