Recruit Update

Kevin Boyle continues to improve as he gets more BCHL games under his belt.  He got two wins this past weekend, saving 32 of 34 shots on Friday and then stopping 39 of 42 shots on Saturday.  After a very rough start in his new league he now has a goals against of 2.67 on the season with a save percentage of .916 in 12 games played.  Impressive.  I think the move to the northwest from the Atlantic Junior league is going to be one that really benefits him in the long run.

Shane Walsh had an assist and 2 PIM over the weekend as the Tri-City Storm lost in overtime.

John Parker was kept off the score sheet as the Muskegon Lumberjacks dropped a couple games.

Dick Baker notes the poor performance in the faceoff circle for the Minutemen in Providence.  Something that I noticed as well but forgot to mention.  Baker also recaps his trespasses in the valley of the sun.  Don’t worry, Dick, you picked a good weekend of hockey to miss.  He mentions in his column that he should’ve been bugging one of his colleagues to get the UMass scores on their iPhone, which reminded me that last week I wrote that I was able to listen to the entire hockey game at BU while driving home from homecoming football thanks to my iPhone.  Afterwards a friend asked how, so for those who are also interested you can stream WRNX using the “I Heart Radio” app.  A must for any UMass fan.
