Weekend Recap; Power Rankings; Quick Signs Extension

Well nothing too out of the ordinary occurred in Hockey East in the Saturday/Sunday games.  Lowell beat Northeastern while Maine lost their second game of the weekend, to UNH this time.  Providence completed their sweep of Bowling Green and now coming into this weekend series against UMass with a surprising 4-1-0 record.  BU stopped their two game losing streak by defeating Michigan at home while Merrimack is still undefeated at home at 4-0 with a win over UConn.

Nationally both the #1 and #2 ranked teams fell this weekend as Miami lost to Michigan State while Alaska-Anchorage beat North Dakota.

Here’s a recap of Friday’s game from the Collegian with a really odd picture.

INCH’s power rankings are out with UMass moving up two spots to #16.

Jon Quick was rewarded for this strong play to start the season with a three year extension, though his coach Terry Murray says he wants to talk to him about his lack of concentration.

Are those recommendations “Stay home” or “Wear riot gear?”

Where are UML students selling “sucks to bu” signs for the game on Friday? Last time I checked that wasn’t Lowell created, and I don’t know how it sucks to be national champs but apparently some people do.

  3. You can buy those outside the TD Garden, at least during the Hockey Beanpot… whatever that is.
