Filiou Interview; Beantown Recap; Alumni With Hardware

It looks like the VeesBlog is going to be a pretty good source of info about Eric Filiou.  The blog itself is written by Ryan Pinder, the Vees’ play by play announcer.  Last night he posted an update from training camp complete with pictures of Filou and even an audio interview you’ll find at the bottom of his post.  Eric mentions in the interview that the decision to defer his commitment a year and go back to the BCHL was a mutual one between him and Coach Quesnelle.

US Hockey Report (subscription) did a short recap of the Summer Beantown Classic.  They commented on  Conor Sheary and Mike Pereira’s speed and ability to put up points and called Colin Shea’s play at defense smooth.

And this is very old news but I missed it when it happened.  Some former Minutemen won hardware this past spring in their respective minor hockey leagues.  Matt Burto helped the Texas Brahmas win the Central Hockey League’s President’s Cup as league champions.  Meanwhile Tim Vitek’s hat trick in game one of the championship series contributed towards the Knoxville Ice Bears and former Minuteman Chris Brannen winning the Southern Professional Hockey League President’s Cup (are they all called the same thing?).  There’s a picture of Tim with the trophy here (pic #jhaas 546).
